New Exhibition “Lockdown”

At the beginning of the pandemic, I worked on a series of watercolour sketches in a sketchbook made of Khadi paper. This sketchbook, from which some works were used in the Six Shot Gallery online exhibition in October, served as a basis for the body of work that is presented in this exhibition. The project was done with friend and local artist Susan King who also developed a body of work on the same subject.

“Lockdown” will be open from 2 July until 14 August 2022 in Oriel CARN in Caernarfon from Thursday to Saturday from 10am to 3pm.

Please feel free to come and have a look !

Some photos of the Polymorph paintings in Parc Meurig Bethesda

Preparations in the morning

My Polymorphs sat against the trees like tired little deflated creatures. It was a bit more windy than I thought, and again the paintings looked like tiny details in the woods. I think the sun bringing some shadows helped pop up the colours that I chose to be in contrast with the existing colours of the trees.

Branches, dead leaves and moss all ended up on the surface of the canvas, and very quickly some insects started to investigate the paintings.

The weather was much better than last year and lots of people came to see art and performances. A big thank you to Lisa for organising this event every year.
